Silent Sundays at South Mountain

Silent Sundays at South Mountain Park 2011

Every fourth Sunday of the month (except on holidays), the park closes the main roads to vehicle traffic and opens the roads for you to be able to walk, bike, jog, skateboard, whatever you please. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy this great park that is in most of our own backyards. Getting there is easy, just head south on Central Avenue. The road leads you directly to the park.

While I was growing up, my family spent many Sundays at South Mountain Park. We would arrive in the mid-morning with all of our food, ready to cook out, our radio, and we wouldn’t leave until it was dark. My brother, my sister and I would run around the ravines, explore the desert, play in the playgrounds, it was so much fun! If you want to get out and enjoy our fabulous spring weather, then Silent Sundays would be a great way to do so.
