Happy 10 year anniversary to Luz Ibarra Ceballos! That’s me. Last month marked my 10 year anniversary being a real estate agent. I got into real estate just as the real estate market began to spiral downward in what seemed like a never-ending free fall. Home prices plummeted and people were losing their homes to foreclosure in an unstoppable tide. Agents were leaving the industry left and right.
In 2007 and 2008, it seemed that the number of active single family homes for sale at any given time in our MLS hovered around 60,000. For comparison, the number of active single family for the past year and a half has hovered around the 18,000 to 19,000 range. So much inventory back then helped to contribute to the falling prices.
In the midst of it all, there were people that still needed to buy and still needed to sell. And that’s what I have been focused on doing for the past ten years. Working with people who need to sell and buy homes, regardless of what the economy is doing.
I have been able to build a great business and have had the opportunity to help some great people along the way. Throughout the years, I have built a team of dedicated, professional, and customer service oriented team members to help my clients along each step of the selling process.
Because of this business, I have been able to put together a directory of preferred vendors for anything and everything that is house related. This list contains painters, pest control companies, home inspectors, photographers, carpet cleaners, handymen, landscaper..and these are all business that I would gladly hire for my own home.
I know that many new agents enter our industry and get burnt out quickly. Many don’t last past the five-year mark, let alone the ten-year mark. These past years have gone by quickly and I have experienced extreme shifts in our local real estate market. It is common for real estate markets to be cyclical, but what we went through was definitely an extreme and I’m so glad I stuck it out.
